Pat Flores and Patrick Weston will be attending Q Christian Fellowship Conference in January of 2020 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
We're headed to sunny Fort Lauderdale!
Vine & Fig co-founders Pat Flores and Patrick Weston will be headed to Q Christian Fellowship Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to present a breakout session titled From the Inside Out — Working for Change in a Non-Affirming Church:
Many of us were raised in denominations without an affirming theology of queer identities and others have embraced traditions later in life despite knowing we may never fully be accepted. Despite the growing options of newer churches with open doors and welcoming policies, they may never feel like home the way our non-affirming churches do. If we want to stay and work toward helping our churches for the better, how do we maintain a healthy spirituality and relationships with other members? What are tactics for change that actually work? How do we form community when we are not accepted?
The conference runs from January 2nd through the 5th. Exact timing for the breakout session is to be determined.
The conference theme this year of The Great Communion aims to bring together different perspectives and viewpoints: "we have discerned the need to shift our posture in critical conversation from one of debating who is right to one centered on the fellowship made possible through Christ."
If you know you'll be attending QCF Conference, feel free to reach out on social media or to say hi in person. We can't wait to meet y'all!
